Georgia, Jack and I went to Mass at St Joseph's on 87th Street in Yorkville, for many years a German speaking parish during the years when the neighborhood was a haven for Geman immigrants. Five years ago, now Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI ("B-16") visited this church during his visit to NYC. Nowadays, only one German language Mass is said each month and, wouldn't you know it, we hit it. An interesting experience. The homily and announcements were in English, though. Afterwards we went to great little place for brunch on Madison and 92nd that Lauren found out about. Tiny space, delicious food and really cool waiters.
